New photographs

Just uploaded a lot of new photographs to the website this week.

Most were shot on location as I travelled and include Phuket, Singapore, and Dublin. My favourite is a beach scene which I photographed in Phuket at the Amari Coral Resort where I stayed.

As ever my photographs are available as prints & cards, just select a thumbnail image, click & scroll down to see the options available.

Photography life … leaflets

I have 5,000 leaflets to deliver & a map – these are for my kid’s photography business.

These two boxes have been winking at me since they arrived home from the printers. I decide the best way to tackle my procrastination was to take a handful and just do an hour’s worth of delivering.

This is I do & I’m pretty sure two of my leaflets have been eaten by dogs as soon as they come through the letter box, and a third house didn’t get a leaflet because their big dog was throwing itself at the door so hard I decided it was a house I didn’t want to return to. I did leaflet my neighbours too – although this felt like a daft thing to do.

Quite enjoyed the walk & the fresh air though. Only another 4,800 to deliver!!

Throgmorton Exhibition 6-12 July 2006

I will be exhibiting some of my photographs, along with other talented Visual Artists at Throgmorton Street, London (near the Bank of England in the City) from 6th to 12th July. The show has been organised by Untitled Gallery - one of my online Galleries.

If you fancy a nose then the Gallery is open 11a.m. to 6p.m. 6th July till 12th July

All the participating artists are promoting the event themselves, so I need all the help I can on getting the word out on this one! A bit unusual I know, but it lowers the costs for us and the buyers as the organiser is not adding their commission to our prices.

Select BRITISH Trade show at West Point, Exeter

My stand at the show

Saturday – set up for Select British exhibition in Exeter, after a very long & sticky drive down on the hottest day of the year so far. Setting up is easy though as I can park so close to unload.

Arrive at my B&B. A property full of character and quirks. The landlady has made some thoughtful touches – microwave, fridge on landing, and shampoo in the bathroom. All I can hear outside is the birds & the wind. I sleep well until himself decides to call me after arriving home after watching the England game in the pub.  A call he cannot remember making the next day!

Day three of the show, and everyone I met is disappointed with the show, Visitor numbers have not been that high – although the food hall has always been busy, but on the craft/gift side there has been very little interest. And Ok not everyone orders at a show, but I’ve found very few people willing to give a card or even leave their details, which is unusual,.

Had a good chat with all the other photographers here though. In fact there are several. And I’m sure a few more visited to suss the show out.

Today is the last day and I suspect it will turn into a bit of a discreet shopping day for all the exhibitors. Nothing like doing some Christmas shopping early.

New toys ….

I have a new toy - a new camera. Still learning it’s strengths & weakness’s, but both these shots were taken with it.

Cream rose close up Orange rose, close up
It will become my everyday camera, the one that goes everywhere with me, just in case …
